Joy | The Arrival

I can have joy right now as a Christian because of what Christ has done and will do.

  1. HOPE

  2. LOVE

  3. PEACE

  4. JOY

Joy For What’s Been Done

Joy For What’s To Come

You may not know why you were born. You may not know the reason for your death. You may not know what happens when you die. Not so with Jesus! Jesus was a man on a mission. He was born to die. His death was the completion of a redemptive plan, not the conclusion of a human life. - H.B. Charles Jr

John 16:16

16 “A little while, and you will see me no longer; and again a little while, and you will see me.”

John 16:16

16 A little while, and you will see me no longer; and again a little while, and you will see me.”

John 16:20-22

20 Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. 21 When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22 So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

John 16:20

20 Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy.

John 15:18

18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.

John 16:20

20 Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy.

John 16:21

21 When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.

John 16:22

22 So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

Two Truths of Joy:

Joy Assured

Joy Secured

John 20:20

20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

Because Christ was their life, the resurrection gave them joy in life.

The only proper response to the gospel is joy because we have what we do not deserve, did not earn and cannot lose.

Joy For What’s To Come

1 Peter 1:3-9

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
