  2. Devoted IN- To One Another (vs 42-46)

  3. Devoted OUT- To The Mission (vs 47)

Devoted-  To Continue To Do Something With Intense Effort, with The Possible Implication of Despite Difficulty—‘To Devote Oneself To, To Keep On, To Persist

Acts 2:36

36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

Acts 2:37

Acts 2:38-40

38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”

Acts 2:41

41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

Received - Means To Come To Believe Something To Be True And To Respond Accordingly

Philippians 3:7-8

But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.

Acts 2:42-43

A Devoted Church Becomes An Evangelistic Church

Acts 2:44-47

44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

  2. Devoted IN- To One Another 

  3. Devoted OUT- To The Mission

Acts 2:47b

Matthew 28:19-20

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

To Lead Our City Into A Life Changing Relationship With Jesus Christ And His Church

The Church’s Job Is Faithfulness- Christ’s Job Is Fruitfulness


1 Corinthians 3:6

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.

  2. Devoted IN- To One Another 

  3. Devoted OUT- To The Mission

Romans 5:10

10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

2 Corinthians 5:18

18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;

2 Corinthians 5:20

20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
